2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz Profile

2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz

The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is an all-electric van/MPV that marks the revival of Volkswagen’s iconic Bus/Microbus design in an emission-free package. Available in both passenger and cargo variants, the ID. Buzz is an all-electric MPV and van range, offering a unique combination of retro styling, modern technology, and practical utility.

What’s New

The ID. Buzz is an all-new model for 2025, reviving the classic Volkswagen Bus/Microbus design with an electric powertrain and contemporary features. It’s the first vehicle of its kind to offer an all-electric MPV and cargo van in the same model lineup.

Exterior Design

The ID. Buzz pays homage to the classic Volkswagen Bus with its boxy, upright silhouette and short overhangs. However, it also incorporates modern design elements, such as LED lighting, a aerodynamic body (with a drag coefficient of 0.29), and a distinctive V-shaped hood. The ID. Buzz is available in a range of solid and two-tone color options, with the iconic “two-tone” look featuring a white upper section and a contrasting lower color.

Interior and Cargo Space

The ID. Buzz passenger model offers seating for up to five people, with individual front seats and a three-seat bench in the rear that can slide and fold to maximize cargo space. With all seats in place, there’s 39.6 cubic feet of cargo room behind the second row, expanding to 77.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

The ID. Buzz Cargo model is designed for commercial use, with a fixed partition separating the cab from the cargo area. It offers 137.7 cubic feet of cargo space, enough to accommodate two pallets, and features a wide-opening rear hatch and a sliding door on the passenger side (with an optional driver’s side sliding door).

Battery and Range

Both the ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo are powered by a 77 kWh (net) lithium-ion battery pack, providing a WLTP-rated range of up to 264 miles (Cargo) and 263 miles (passenger). The onboard charger allows you to charge the battery at home or public AC charging stations with a capacity of 11 kW. You can also charge it at DC fast-charging stations, which can deliver up to 170 kW, resulting in a 5-80% charge in just about 30 minutes.

Performance and Driving

The ID. Buzz is equipped with a rear-mounted 150 kW (201 hp) electric motor that generates 229 lb-ft of instant torque. This setup provides a 0-62 mph time of 10.2 seconds and a limited top speed of 90 mph. The rear-wheel-drive and low center of gravity contribute to agile handling and a tight turning circle of 36.4 feet, making the ID. Buzz well-suited for city driving.

Advanced Tech and Safety

The ID. Buzz comes with a range of advanced driver assistance systems, including Travel Assist with swarm data utilization and assisted lane-changing, as well as Park Assist Plus with a memory function for automated parking. Standard safety features include Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, Car2X hazard warnings, and Pre-Crash occupant protection.

The ID. Buzz also features the latest Volkswagen ID. enables over-the-air updates, “Plug & Charge” capability at compatible charging stations, and the ability to add new apps and services through the infotainment system’s in-car shop.
