2025 Volkswagen ID.7 Profile

2025 Volkswagen ID.7

The Volkswagen ID.7 is an all-new premium electric sedan that serves as the flagship model in VW’s growing family of EVs. Consequently, it slots into the midsize luxury segment, aiming to offer an upscale experience with a long driving range and cutting-edge technology features.

What’s New

As an all-new model for 2025, the ID.7 represents Volkswagen’s first entry into the premium electric sedan market. Additionally, it rides on the company’s dedicated EV architecture and debuts the latest generation of VW’s electric drivetrain and battery technology.

Exterior Design

With its flowing lines, wide stance, and short overhangs, the ID.7 cuts a sleek and muscular silhouette. Specifically, the front features slim LED headlights and air curtains, while the sides are defined by a prominent character line. Furthermore, a full-width LED light bar spans the tailgate at the rear. Aerodynamic efficiency was a key consideration in the ID.7’s design as well.

Interior and Cargo Space

Despite its low-slung roofline, the ID.7 provides a spacious cabin thanks to its long 117-inch wheelbase. Moreover, rear legroom is especially generous. In addition, the trunk offers 18.8 cubic feet of cargo volume that expands to 56 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Premium materials and ambient lighting highlight the upscale interior design.

Battery and Range

The ID.7 Pro S model comes standard with an 82 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Consequently, Volkswagen estimates this will provide over 300 miles of driving range on a full charge, though official EPA figures are still pending. In addition, the battery supports DC fast charging to replenish from 10-80% in around 30 minutes.

Performance and Driving

Rear-wheel drive ID.7 models produce 282 horsepower and 402 lb-ft of torque from their single electric motor. Additionally, all-wheel drive versions get a dual-motor setup with 335 hp. As a result, acceleration from 0-60 mph takes just 6.5 seconds. Furthermore, handling is enhanced by the low-mounted battery pack and available adaptive dampers.

Advanced Tech and Safety

Headlining the ID.7’s tech features is a standard augmented reality head-up display that projects navigation and other data onto the windshield. In addition, other standards include a 15-inch touchscreen, smart air vents, and Volkswagen’s latest driver assistance systems like Travel Assist hands-on semi-autonomous driving.

Pricing

Pricing has not yet been announced for the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7, but it is expected to start around $55,000 for the base Pro S trim. Moreover, upper trims like the Pro S Plus could stretch into the $60,000-$70,000 range when fully equipped.

Notable Standard and Optional Features

Notable standard features on the ID.7 include a panoramic glass roof, 12-way massaging front seats, wireless phone charging, and heated/ventilated seats. Likewise, key options will include a premium Harman Kardon audio system, heated rear seats, four-zone climate control, and an upgraded massage seat function.
