Issue: Under certain conditions, the electronic door latches could stay locked after the driver and/or front passenger exit the vehicle. As a result, you may not be able to open the doors from the outside, or an occupant that's unable to use the inside door handle(s) may not be able to exit the vehicle on their own. Safety Risk: Doors that can't be opened from the outside could delay emergency responders from entering the vehicle. This could also slow certain occupants from exiting the vehicle in an emergency. Both issues could increase the risk of injury. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Issue: On certain vehicles, the right-rear halfshaft may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the right-rear halfshaft could fail and cause a loss of power to the rear wheels. Also, if this happens and the vehicle is parked without the parking brake on, the vehicle could roll away. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels or a vehicle rollaway could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, replace the right-rear halfshaft. Ford advises that you should use the parking brake each time that you park the vehicle until the recall inspection/repair is completed.
